Systems & Database Administration

As database administrators (DBA), we direct or perform all activities related to maintaining a successful Microsoft SQL Server database environment. Responsibilities include implementing, and maintaining the database system; establishing policies and procedures pertaining to the management, security, maintenance, and use of the SQL Server database management system; and training employees in simple database management and use.

Some clients opt to completely outsource their in-house systems administration and database administration to Abbey Code. In this capacity, we are responsible for implementing proven backup strategy plans and disaster recovery, application of recommended patches, “Formsync” (see glossary), performance trouble-shooting, server optimization and security policy. We create parallel pilot and development environments and keep them periodically refreshed and up-to-date in order to enable the staff to have a safe sandbox for training, development and experimentation.
